Bring on the Grub

Today, we got four new missionaries! Three are from America and the fourth is from South Africa. The Elder from South Africa not only clicks but you say his name with a click. I don't think we will ever conquer his name. They were supposed to come in on a flight at 7:15 AM. I stayed home making cinnamon rolls for a get together after they arrived. Ken was out the door with plenty of time to make it to the airport on time, even with the morning traffic. But to his horror, he found a flat tire on the car. We only had the one car here, because the Kenyons were using our other car while theirs was in the shop. Well, we set to work to get the spare and change the tire. Ken, dressed in his missionary clothes and me not dressed (still in my nightgown) started to work. We hadn't done this before here, and we were trying to figure out how to release the tire, find the jack, make it work, and of course we were in a frenzy worrying about missionaries arriving and not being met by anyone. A bit gray and with ruffled feathers, my faithful Elder hopped in the car and was off just about the time the flight was to arrive. He called when he got to the airport and found that there was no flight from Nairobi at 7:15 in the morning. A certain AP that used to serve here with us, is on our list for giving out false information . All in all, the day worked out fine. We all got to the church, had a nice social and then we delivered all the elders to the four corners of the city to their respective flats. (Don't say that word today)!
Sunday, we had a farewell dinner and devotional. One elder went home on Monday. Three more leave this Friday to go to Arusha and open a new area. We hate to see them go, but are so excited to see a new area open up to missionary work. We are sending a great group to do the job. This is a picture of our zone before todays transfers.
